Intended Audience: Family Medicine Residents, Family Physicians, Other Primary Care Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Educators and Nurse Managers.
Registration: Complimentary for first 65 registrants from Burke and Montefiore Einstein Staff, AAFP, NYSAFP and BWAFP members, Family medicine residents and family medicine interest group (FMIG) students, Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and Montefiore Medical center Employees, $ 30.00, for others.
Maximum capacity is 65. Registrations will be accepted on a first come first served basis and preference is given to free registrants.

Determination of need was done by surveys of potential learners, needed health outcomes and identified new skills, such as compression therapy and meets the gap in knowledge
Statement of purpose
Chronic wounds, such as pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers, are commonly encountered by physicians in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Family physicians are the key, to prevention, early recognition, treatment, and comprehensive management of patients with chronic wounds.
Course objectives
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Accurately diagnose pressure ulcers, leg ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers.
2. Create appropriate management plans educate patients and caregivers self-management skills, for wound care.
3. Apply compression dressings to non-ischemic leg ulcers and.
4. Provide leadership for improvement in wound care
